Oyaki and Sanzokuyaki. We will share the charm of Shinshu food with the world. Restaurants in Denmark and Italy are offering Nagano Prefecture special menus in March.

■Denmark
Oyaki. Miso soup with lots of ingredients. And soba.

This is not a Shinshu dining table. This is a Japanese restaurant located in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark in Europe.

The prefecture is promoting efforts to spread the appeal of Shinshu overseas through the perspective of food, with bases in the gourmet towns of Paris, France, and Milan, Italy.

Because Copenhagen’s natural climate is similar to Shinshu, this year for the first time we offered a special menu for three weeks only.

The menu is designed by a local chef. It is said that it was difficult to make the dough for Danish oyaki made with vegetables and mushrooms.

“Mushrooms and potatoes are delicious in Denmark, so it might be good!”

JAH IZAKAYA Head Chef Gentaro Kimura
“I tried to make it with food that is commonly eaten in Nagano in mind. The response was better than I expected, so my efforts are worth it.”

■Milan
At a Japanese restaurant in Milan, Italy, soba from Togakushi is arranged in a Milanese style.

Woman: “It’s so delicious!”

Togakushi’s unique platter, “Bocchi Mori,” was apparently well-received, with people saying it was “easy to share.”

Communicating the charm of Shinshu through its food. This possibility is reflected in the smiles of those who eat it.

Woman: “Tottemooisiides!”
