↑”Kirin Jojo Shochu Soda/350ml”. It was 163 yen at a nearby supermarket. Anyway, it takes me about an hour each time just to take photos of the bottles and cans of alcohol so I can show them to people.

It’s just a shochu soda, so when I think of it, it’s “shochu-hai.” However, there are some differences from regular chuhai. Usually, when we talk about shochu-hai, the shochu that is used is Kou. Also, many of the canned sours sold use vodka instead of shochu.

Meanwhile, this “Kirin Jojo Shochu Soda” seems to be a mixture of Korui shochu and Otsu-type genuine barley shochu. The label on the can says “Some genuine barley shochu is used”, so I guess it really is “some,” a small amount, mixed in, but the proportions are good. It’s not completely authentic, but has a faint barley flavor.

That’s the best thing about chuhai.

Plus, it has a bit of sweetness and salt as an accent, so it’s drinkable! It’s drinkable and the knob tastes delicious. And with this type of alcohol, any knob will go well with it.
