Hello. My name is Hazuki Ebihara and I am a food saver and writer.

At my house, we always stock up on frozen rice. With this and miso soup, I can now prepare meals without any burden on days when I’m tired or for lunch alone on weekdays.

Therefore, we recommend making miso soup using frozen miso packs instead of miso balls, which can be made quickly by just pouring hot water and also eliminates the hassle of wrapping and rolling. It only takes 3 minutes! Introducing a super easy recipe.

Miso balls[frozen miso pack]

The basics of the menu are rice and miso soup. Having these two items on hand will not only reduce the hassle of preparing meals every day, but also prevent you from eating out.

At my house, we cook a lot of rice and freeze it. Cooked rice is nutritious and kills two birds with one stone. I used to use instant soup for miso soup, but instead of miso balls, I stock frozen miso packs.

Frozen miso packs are an unrolled version of the “miso balls” that were popular for a while. You can eliminate the surprisingly time-consuming work of wrapping it in plastic wrap and rolling it up. Only 3 minutes! Even a lazy person like me could easily make it.

Just mix and it’s done!Work time is only 3 minutes

Let me introduce you to the recipe right away. Mix the miso base with your favorite ingredients.

Frozen miso (15 cups)

・Miso…150g

・Dashi granules…2 tablespoons

Recommended ingredients

・Dried seaweed

・Kiriboshi radish (cut finely with scissors)

・Fried tofu

・Green onions (frozen ones are OK)

Add miso, granulated soup stock, and your favorite ingredients to a freezer-safe storage container and mix thoroughly. Flatten it and store it in the freezer.

at do you think? It’s easier than you think ♩ You can use powdered dashi or bonito flakes for the soup stock. You can make it even easier by using miso with dashi stock.

In addition, by using dried foods that tend to expire accidentally, you can reduce food waste and kill two birds with one stone without having to rehydrate.

Can be used immediately because it does not harden

Pour about 1 tablespoon of frozen miso packs into hot water, mix well, and you’re done (the flavor will vary depending on the miso and stock you use, so adjust to your preference).

Miso has a high salt content and remains soft even after freezing, so it can be easily scooped out with a spoon or chopsticks. There’s no need to thaw it, so you can make it right away whenever you want to drink it.

Storage period is approximately 1 month. Even if you make a large amount, you can consume it, and making stock again is not as difficult as “making” it. Recommended for busy breakfast menus and late night snacks for students taking exams.

Transforms into miso balls as needed

If you want to serve it as an accompaniment to Tama’s bento, just put the miso soup base in plastic wrap and wrap it. It’s soft, so it’s easy to shape. If you add dried seaweed or dried daikon radish, they will absorb the moisture from the ingredients and prevent liquid leakage.

It’s much cheaper than adding commercially available instant soup, so you can save money. Please try our easy-to-make frozen miso pack.
