On the 8th, NEXCO EAST Japan and its group NEXERIA EAST Japan will compete in the “Highway Meshi Koshien” event, where participants choose the best menu item from the service area (SA) or parking area (PA) in their jurisdiction, starting with a preliminary round of 121 dishes and then a final round. We announced 13 products from 12 prefectures that have advanced to the top. Among the 11 entries from Tochigi Prefecture, the winner was “Tochigi Megumi Seigen Miso Ramen,” served at Nasu Kogen SA on the Tohoku Expressway.

According to the two companies, “Tochigi no Megumi Seigen Miso Ramen” (1,100 yen) uses plenty of ingredients from Tochigi Prefecture, including Utsunomiya City’s “Seigen Miso,” “Seigen Gyoza,” and boiled eggs from the Nasu government. It is topped with “Iwashita’s new ginger” as an accent, and is characterized by its richness and filling.

The finals of Highway Meshi Koshien will be held in a voting format, and anyone can vote from a special website or official X (formerly Twitter). Voting will be accepted from March 9th to March 10th, and the results will be announced in late March. Voters will be entered into a lottery to win travel gift certificates, beef sets, and SA and PA souvenir sets.

During the period, if you order any of the 121 items entered in Highway Meshi Koshien, you will receive a 100 yen shopping coupon that can be used at the shopping corner.

Other products from the northern Kanto region include “Ibarki~Mori no Uta Iya! Domo~” (1,500 yen) from Tomobe SA on the Tokiwa Expressway Up Line, which uses high-grade ingredients, representing Ibaraki Prefecture, and specialty products, representing Gunma Prefecture. “Joshu” Shimonita Negi Miso Katsudon (1,000 yen), which uses “Shimonita Negi,” will be making it to the finals.
