Third place went to Ramen Shingen Minami 6-jo branch. A ramen shop located about 2 minutes walk from Higashihonganji-mae Station on the Sapporo City Den Yamahana Line. The menu is characterized by the use of old Japanese country names, such as “Shinshu,” where you can enjoy the richness of miso, and “Echigo,” which is spicy miso ramen. “Shinshu” is characterized by a clear soup made by simmering pork bones, dried sardines, and vegetables, and you can also enjoy the sweetness and mellow taste of the miso sauce.

2nd place: Sumire Sapporo Nakanoshima branch

Second place went to Sumire Sapporo Nakanoshimamoto branch. A popular Sapporo ramen restaurant located in Nakanoshima, Toyohira Ward, Sapporo City. It has a history dating back to 1964, and as of January 2024, it is the main store of the Sumire Group, which has three stores in Sapporo and one in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The miso menu includes the signature “miso” as well as “miso kimchi.” Miso soup is made by sauteing ground meat, bean sprouts, onions, and garlic, then adding custom-made miso from a local sake brewery. It has a rich and spicy taste, and you can also enjoy the scent of ginger.

1st place: Menya Ayami

1st place went to Menya Ayami. A Sapporo ramen shop founded in 2000, located about a 4-minute walk from Misono Station on the Toho Municipal Subway Line. It is run by the owner who trained at the famous restaurant “Sumire” for about 7 years.

Their signature menu item, “Miso Ramen,” is made with miso sauce, which is a blend of three types of white miso, and tonkotsu soup. It is also characterized by its chewy curly noodles and slowly stewed pork belly. Also, adding grated ginger to the soup adds a refreshing taste.
